Naginata, which developed mainly among women as a martial art, has been revived as a sport.

The All Japan Naginata Federation was established in 1955, and a Naginata federation was also established in Aizu in preparation for the Fukushima National Athletic Meet to be held in 1995.

Nowadays, they perform in various events, such as participating in the Aizu Clan Lord's procession at the Aizu Festival held every fall.
