The day after returning to Kiev from Elyabki, the Kamui/Kenkido group traveled to Minsk, the capital of Belarus, Ukraine's neighbor, after a ㏠ day of travel.

On the 10th, we gave a performance at a theater in the city, and in the evening we were invited to a local aikido hall for a 剱伎道 workshop.

 

On the day of the event, a local TV station brought in cameras to film the performance and even the backstage area, which was broadcast on the news that evening.

 

Although this was the first time the show was performed in Minsk, reservations were flooded in advance, with three times the number of people signing up for the show than the capacity of the venue,

 

The performance was also well received, with a standing ovation following the slabchichi at the end of the performance.

 

The evening workshop was held at Sergei Sensei's aikido studio, where he holds the 5th dan.

 

I was surprised and pleased to see that Japanese martial arts and culture are respected and rooted in distant Minsk in the form of aikido.

This workshop will be held at25The training was well organized and enthusiastic, as the participants were all regular aikido practitioners.

 

Although some of them must have had a long career in aikido, they were all polite and humble, which impressed all Kamui and Kendo-kidō members.

 

After the practice, we had dinner with Sergey, and it was a memorable day for Kendo as the establishment of Kendo Minsk Dojo was decided at the dinner.

 

Kamui ・This was my first visit to Belarus as a Kendo member, but I felt that I had come to Belarus as I had expected! It was my first visit to Belarus, but I could feel a good response from my visit to Minsk.
