Samurai artist Kamui & swordsmith members led by leader Tetsuro Shimaguchi performed at the opening ceremony of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. on March 20, 2012.
The annual event, which commemorates the longstanding friendship between the U.S. and Japan, celebrates its 110th anniversary this year with a traditional event and a message from the current First Lady Jill Biden.
In addition to the two performances, the Ambassador of Japan to the U.S. and the mayor of Washington, D.C., participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that enlivened the event.

This event, which has 110years of long history, is held to celebrate the friendship between Japan and America, every year.
Special messages and video greetings were presented by first lady Jill Biden in this time.
